The only remaining spaces to be included at the second floor level would be children's bedrooms, bathrooms, and perhaps a guest room or playroom. Obviously, the combined area of the ground floor spaces is disproportionately larger than the second floor layout. This spatial arrangement will cause the mass of the house to have a shape that is quite different from that of the selected traditional two-story New England Colonial architectural style. In fact, this spatial distribution and zoning arrangement would be much better suited to the Acadian cottage style of architecture that often features two or three bedrooms in the attic cavity, forming a one and a half story residence.
